***** UPDATE *****

The weather forecast for Saturday has lightened up a bit, So I am not cancelling the event, but there are a couple changes which may affect your attendance decision:

    1. Due to the heavy rains/T-Storms that are still expected today and through the evening, there will be NO CHECK-IN OR CAMPING ON FRIDAY EVENING.
    2. Check-in will be on Saturday at morning 08:00-09:30.. There are still scattered showers and a possible afternoon T-Storm
    3. Troops leaders can evaluate the campsite conditions during the day, and make a determination if your troop will camp on Saturday night.
    4. Troops that were providing additional MB counselors may decide not to attend, which may leave us shorthanded – We will still make every effort to present all the material so that the scouts can complete the MB.
    5. We will check the runway conditions on Saturday morning to see if conditions will permit us to give airplane rides safely, and without damaging our grass runway.
    6. Because many of our pilots will be bringing their aircraft in from other airports/fields they will not be arriving until after the runway condition determination is made.
Please email me (scouts@flyingcircusairshow.com) that you have received this update, and whether you still plan to attend on Saturday. Please also let me know if you will not be attending.
***** UPDATE *****

The Flying Circus has dedicated the September 25 Airshow to the recognition of Scouting in America. The Flying Circus salutes the commitment scouts make to their fellow scouts, their community and their nation; and to the example they set to their friends and neighbors by their conduct and volunteerism.

During the weekend of September 23-25 (Friday-Sunday), many Scout Units will be camping on the airport. Please contact the FCA Scouting Coordinator at Scouts@FlyingCircusAirshow.com if your unit would like to camp at the Flying Circus Aerodrome. Several members of the Flying Circus staff will be available on Saturday, September 24, 2011 to provide information and instruction for earning the Aviation Merit Badge. (See: Meritbadge.org for details on the merit badge requirements.)

The (tentative) schedule for the 2011 weekend is now available: JUST CLICK HERE. Please note that this schedule is subject to revision.

Aircraft rides will be available on both Saturday and Sunday (CLICK HERE for current prices).

BSA requireds that each Troop complete and submit a "BSA Flying Permit Application" to Council (NCAC). Along with the Flying Permit, the Troop must submit a "BSA Activity Consent Form" for each scout that will take a flight.

The Flying Permit Application & BSA Activity Consent Form are avalable here in "Adobe Acrobat" (.pdf) format.

The page(s) containing the pilot and aircraft information (for the Flying Permit Application) will be provided directly to NCAC by the FCA Scouting coordinator.
